Overview: The Open
Education Resources Advisory Committee is charged with examining
the textbook purchasing policies in the Commonwealth and study the
use of open education resources to both lower the cost of textbooks
and improve the quality of learning in the K-12 environment. At
its first meeting, the advisory committee chose to focus on K-12
public schools but recognized the rising cost of college textbooks
as a major concern for students and a potential study area for a
future advisory committee.
